Sergeant First Class Robert K. McGee was born in Antioch, Tennessee.
Sergeant First Class McGee started Basic Combat Training and the Basic Airborne Course at Fort Benning, Georgia next he was assigned as a senior Special Forces weapons sergeant with Operational Detachment A 155, Company B, 2nd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Lewis, Washington next McGee was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Sergeant First Class McGee taught Special Forces students at U. S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School at Fort Bragg.
After 10 years of service Robert McGee finished his military career and begun a new career in the computer industry in Nashville, Tennessee. The tragic events of September of 2001 inspired Sergeant First Class McGee to return to active service.
Sergeant First Class McGee died in Manila, Philippines on July 1, 2004. He was deployed to the Philippines as a member of an advance team for Joint Special Operations Task Force-Philippines.
